I don’t know about you, but I am tired of rallies, I am tired of speeches, I am tired of making signs, and I am sure as hell tired of marching (although I must say my ass is looking bangin’ lately).
I am angry and annoyed! I am beyond pissed! But above all things, I am disappointed in people. Not just the asshats who voted no in the Senate the other day, resulting in a defeat to the marriage equality bill. I am most disappointed in those who within our own community treat this issue with the amount of apathy and lethargy that I have witnessed in recent months.
The day you lay down your arms and allow things to unfold in a manner such as they have is the day you contribute to the problem. There is a quote that I live by, more-so than any other:
“It’s better to die upon your feet than to live upon your knees!“
I know this site is about sex and sexuality and you may be wondering why I am bringing politics such as marriage equality here, but believe me it is relevant. This fight is against an air of discrimination that contributed to the 11% increase in violent hate crimes against GLBT people in 2008. This fight is against people who, if they had it their way, would do what they could to ban homosexual sex altogether. Everything about this fight is against you, whether you want to address it or not.
If you’ve read this far then thank you. I know the last thing that people want on the internets is some stranger yelling at them and telling them how to act.
So for those of you who are ready to take action, I have compiled a list. These are the names, parties, and e-mail addresses of the senators who voted NO for equality and YES for discrimination. There is an election season coming up and I will admit I have never really paid attention to which senators to vote for, but this time around things are different. These people have revealed their true colors, and they are a nasty poop-stain shade of ignorant, cowardly, and prejudice. It’s time we took REAL action.
I encourage anyone reading this who believes in true equality for all to e-mail the people below and tell them that this is wrong and that we are not taking this sitting down. Tell your friends to do the same, and if they brush you off tell them again! There is no time to waste — we must stand up and fight for our rights, once and for all, to be treated 100% equal under the law.

I encourage you to write your own messages in e-mails, thus I am not providing a script, though keep in mind you can use the same message to each Senator. Just copy paste and send. It’s so easy, and will only take 10 minutes out of your day! If you feel like talking to these douchebags, phone calls work great!
Let them know that their time is coming, and do everything in your power to let them know that their No was heard around this state.
