In what was a widely unpopular post, I gave nothing but negative feedback on the Fleshlight. This masturbator claims to be the #1 male sex toy on the market and I found it unimpressive, especially when compared to cheaper masturbators such as the COLT Power Stroker and the Monkey Spanker. A lot of people told me that they loved theirs though, so I went searching, and decided to try and review the version that is supposed to be the most intense — the Fleshlight Stamina Training Unit.
In an economy where sales are down everywhere except for sex, tobacco and liquor, it’s hard to justify high priced items used for sex. Quality is quality though, so I am gonna give the Stamina Training Unit (STU) a try.
The STU is different than the original Fleshlight in only one way. The internal portion of the sleeve (picture above) is actually lined with a series of bumps. These bumps are supposed to make jacking off extra special, and so I put it to the test.
One of my issues with the original Fleshlight was that it didn’t feel like anything special. I ended up using silicone lube with it which ended up melting and thus destroying the toy. This time I am using the best water based lube that I have found thus far for jacking off — the thick and wonderful Sassy from Sliquid.
I put plenty on myself as well as plenty within the tunnel of the STU. The results were immediately different — the texture felt smooth, soft, and really nice! The bumps totally add to the experience. Some people are afraid of bumps or “studs” in masturbators, but in the Fleshlight STU they are just as soft as the entire core of the sleeve. I didn’t last long using this lube with this masturbator and came a happy and healthy load.
But that isn’t my main issue. The Fleshlight toys are made of a Cyberskin like material. This material is severely volitle and delicate. After use, you are to rinse it off with water, pat it dry with a towel, and then leave it to air dry. When the material starts to get sticky you are supposed to apply corn starch to renew its soft texture. That’s a lot of work for a jack off toy, no matter how nice it feels!
It’s also gigantic. Not everyone is comfortable with leaving a bulky device like this laying out, and not everyone has the dresser space to store it. I prefer smaller toys that are easier to store, and also easier to clean up and take care of.
So ok, the Fleshlight STU feels great — however they have recently raised their prices to the $70+ range, and for that price tag I would expect something more compact and easy to take care of.
The Fleshlight STU is a great toy if you have the time to take care of it and the money to afford it. Otherwise, there really is no need to be dropping that kind of dough on something that garners the same results from cheaper toys made of more durable materials. Sorry Fleshlight — excess is frowned upon in this economy!
