I tend to prefer hands-free toys when I am playing alone, and so I typically shy away from dildos. The action required to move a piece in and out is usually not very comfortable and so unless it has a suction cup base I am a little reluctant to pick the toy up. Such was the case with Vergenza’s MK1. I have had this toy for almost two years and never once used it. They never really sold well at the store and I assumed it was for good reason, but I have been playing with the stainless steel toys a lot lately and enjoying them so I decided it was time to dust off this guy and give it its moment in the spotlight.
A lot of people don’t stop to think about the material that their toys are made out of. They just look for shape usually, and while I can get behind and understand that, you have to remember that sex toys are not regulated by the FDA and thus you have no idea what you are putting into your body. This is why I typically use condoms with my toys (it also makes it a lot easier for clean up). However, with the case high-end materials you can go to town and not have to worry about nasty chemicals getting into your body, and such is the case with the MK1.
The MK1 is made of aircraft quality spun aluminum. To my knowledge, Vergenza is the only company to utilize this material. It’s a great material because it is non-porous (it wont harbor bacteria) and solid in the way that medical grade stainless steel is, however it is also much much lighter than other metal toys. Having that weight is great for some types of toys, like plugs and such, but when you plan on moving something in and out of you there is a fine line between a pleasent amount of weight and “I might as well be lifting weights”.
The MK1 is easily insertible. A little bit of lube and I was good to go. I was actually surprised with how nice it felt. Phallic dildos tend to create a small bit of resistance when you use them because they are made of materials that aren’t always smooth, but when you put lube on aluminum you have a sturdy, easily insertible friend!
I had the long end inserted which made my handle option really small. It wasn’t impossible to maneuver in and out but it was an effort that was of note. Switching over to the smaller end inserted made for a longer handle, but a much smaller portion of the toy inside of me.
The good news is; both ends feel great! The MK1 was firm and smooth and I was able to pull it in and out with ease, as fast or as slow as I wanted. When I had the longer end inside, I would just push down on the handle sometimes and that brought the entire toy up against my prostate for some titilating good times.
This toy comes in five different colors and they are all very sleek looking. It is a great toy to use with a partner and has a very classy vibe about it. Due to the material it’s made of, it’s also gonna last you a life time so long as you don’t scratch it up.
All in all I’d say that the MK1 was a pleasent surprise! I certainly hope more people give this toy a try because it’s one of a kind!
