After the recent success of Snake Oil, I was excited to continue trying out other lubes to see if there were any that could get all the elements I enjoy all together. Snake Oil felt great, but it was really really drippy, and I really like thicker lubes. That’s why I picked up Sassy by Sliquid. The tester demonstrated that the lube was on the thicker side, but it was a water base. It felt good on my fingers so I decided to put it on other body parts. Let’s see how sassy it really is!
Now I know what you might be thinking from looking at Sassy’s packaging…obviously marketed towards women. And that’s true — Sassy is excellent for women because it doesn’t have glycerin or parabens. So why would a gay dude pick up a bottle of lube being marketed to women? Because this lube is being marketed towards women who want to have anal sex, and a butt is a butt in my opinion!
Sliquid announced Sassy as its “booty formula”. It is just like their basic water base except Sassy is a lot thicker. The second you squeeze some out into your palm you can tell — this is a water base that is looking to give silicones a run for their money.
The second you apply Sassy to your dick you feel a pillow of lubrication surround you. It feels so fucking good, I can’t even explain! Jerking off with Sassy vs some of the other thinner water bases out there was far far more enjoyable. Using this with the COLT Power Stroker was the closest I have ever felt a sex toy coming to feeling like another person. Giving head with it is nice too — it doesn’t really have a flavor, and anything that you do taste is very very mild. This might have to do with the fact that Sassy is 100% vegan.
Where other water based lubes use glycerin — which get tacky and sticky as you use them — Sassy uses a plant cellulose. Glycerin by large is derived from animal fat and doesn’t make the best ingredient for water based lubes. Sassy is proof of that.
What’s even better is how it performs analy. Most water bases are too thin or dry out way too fast to be used for anal. Sassy however has several qualities about it that make it great for anal. The thicker texture of it provides a nice cushion for your cushion. The long lasting slickness of it makes for minimal reapplication. What is probably one of my favorite parts though is that it’s a LOT easier to clean off of yourself and your bed sheets, because it is a water base and thus water soluble.
I don’t know that it will dethrone my favorite silicone lube, System JO Anal, but this is totes my new favorite lube to use with anal toys. The no fuss clean up is often key for me when using toys, because once I am done I want to be DONE. Silicone also runs a bit more expensive and so you want to save it for the duo encounters, whereas Sassy is only $21 for a large bottle. Since it’s water base you can also use it with all toys — even your silicone ones!
If you want a great lube for jerking off or using toys, this one is my new fav! Give it a try!

How would you compare it to Maximus? That was my favorite water based, and it’s pretty think (although a bit too sticky as it dries maybe).
Considering how tacky Maximus was with the grecian column on the bottle, I think I could rock a bottle of Sassy with little to no shame.
I have actually never tried Maximus, but I had heard that it gets a bit sticky. It does have it’s fanbase though, so I will pick up a bottle tomorrow and compare the two.
And don’t hate on the Greco-Roman realness! haha Anything is better than the cheap purple Astroglide bottles. BLECK.
