Jerking off is one of man’s greatest gifts from above. All you need is your hand, some slippery stuff, and you’re off to the races! It’s easy to do and satisfying, but it’s the nature of man to get bored with routine. From time to time we like to change things up, and so I encourage everyone to cheat on their hand for a night with masturbation sleeves. But let’s say you don’t want to commit to one for various reasons (price, maintenance, etc). Then what do you do? Well a Japanese company has what it feels is the right answer: the one time use, disposable Tenga ona-cup masturbator. How does it measure up? Keep reading!
The people at Tenga have good intentions. According to their mission statement, they want to “transform sex into an open, up-front experience that anyone can enjoy.” Keep in mind that over in Japan sex is extremely taboo, so admitting that you jerk off is a social crime, much less making a toy to masturbate with. So hats off to you, Tenga. Keep working to knock down those barriers!
When I first decided to review the Tenga, I already knew one issue with it that I wasn’t happy about. It is specifically marketed as a disposable masturbation device. In a day and age where we are trying to be as green as possible, the last thing that needed to be made was a one-time use masturbator. Especially if you are like me and you play a lot. We’re talking mass deforestation!
I decided to let that slide because maybe this toy would impress me, and I will admit that I had my doubts. The packaging is cute enough — the one that I got was called the “deep throat cup” and had a red outside with silver stripes. I peeled off the bottom and it was already lubed up and ready to use, which would come in handy if you are traveling!
I assumed when I looked at the hole from the outside that it was just going to be a simple squishy material. Boy was I wrong. Look at the inside of this insane thing:
Holy crap it looks like a food processor!
The texture on the inside feels nice. The lube is long lasting and didn’t dry up the entire time. The material itself was soft and squishy, and actually felt a bit like spongy styrofoam. It was built to mimic the deep throat experience by having various textures and levels of tightness, and it did a pretty good job!
One of my favorite things about this was that you could control the amount of suction that the toy produces. There is a hole at the very end of the Tenga that you can cover or uncover easily with one finger to control when you want suction and when you don’t. The suction sensation is really nice in moderation, and combined with the texture it got me off pretty fast!
Which brings me back to the fact that it’s disposable. As soon as I was done I did just what the instructions told me to: I threw it away. I stared at it sitting at the top of my trash can and thought about the money spent. The Tenga is only $15 at The Pleasure Chest, but can you imagine dropping $15 everything you wanted to get off?
Like I mentioned before these would be great for traveling. Just pick one up where ever you go, use it, toss it. That way you don’t have to pack a toy and have embarrassing moments at the airport.
An interesting addition to the sex toy world, and definitely worth trying at least once, especially if you are curious about buying a masturbator in the future but want to give one a try before spending a lot on a more expensive model. Go give one a shot!
TENGA ONA-CUPS can now be purchased from our discreet online store at SexToyFun! They are also currently being carried here in New York at The Pleasure Chest.
