I received a letter from one of my devoted fans asking me what my favorite inflatable butt plug was. I didn’t have an answer because, sadly, I had never tried one. So like any kind soul, I went shopping for one. I decided on the Deluxe Wonder Plug by Doc Johnson. Frankly, the concept scared me, but my grandma always used to tell me “do something every day that scares you” so I bought it. I’m not sure that she had this in mind when she gave me that advice, but oh well she hasn’t called me on my birthday in 10 years so nuts to her.
My first reaction when taking this toy out of the box was that I was in over my head. It comes with three basic parts: The plug itself, the remote control box to control the vibration, and a squeeze pump to inflate or deflate the toy. I like to keep my toys simple usually, but I decided to give this a go.

It’s made of what feels like a cheap rubber pvc so I assumed it was porous. Like all porous toys, I used a condom over the plug part to make clean up easier.

The control box runs off of two AA batteries. Like all vibrating toys, make sure you don’t leave the batteries inside the control box between uses. If you do, there is a chance that you’ll end up slowly ruining the motor or worse — experience battery leakage.

So down to business. I used one of those free NYC condoms over the plug. I did my usual pregame of massaging the appropriate sphincter muscles. Remember to never just shove anything up your butt — give yourself time to rub and finger yourself til you are able to take two fingers comfortably. I was using my favorite lube for the job, but really any water base or silicone would be fine for this, especially since it’s a plug and thus it graduates in size.

Once I was relaxed enough to take the plug, I inserted it. The plug itself is 4″ long, 1.5″ wide, and 4.5″ around so it is a pretty decent size to begin with. Just having the plug in was nice. I turned on the vibe to play around with the different speeds, starting off on the low speed and working up to the higher speeds. I don’t do this because it gradually begins to feel better, but rather your body tends to react negatively if it’s thrown too much stimulation at one time. You could actually end up turning yourself off if you turn yourself on too fast!

It was time to start inflating the toy. I gave it four pumps which created a nice full feeling inside. Combined with the vibration it felt great. Kinda plain but still really good. I was certain there was more to it than that though, so I experimented with deflating and then re-inflating the toy, and I really think this is how the toy is meant to be used. Going back and forth from inflated to suddenly deflated is a really unique sensation. When it’s inflated you get used to that full feeling, and to have something instantly shrink down inside sorta takes your breath away!

One of the things about vibration and pressure in anal toys that I think a lot of people have misconceptions about is that it’s going to feel like sex. It feels nothing like sex and nothing like another person. It sits there and doesn’t do anything but vibrate in place, which isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s great in it’s own unique way, and you don’t really realize how great it is until you climax. It’s a very rare toy that can make my jaw drop when I cum, but man this thing was teasing and massaging me inside so much it literally blew my mind! I laid in bed for a few minutes just trying to get my breath back and enjoying the full body sensation.

This toy isn’t all that expensive. You can usually find it in the $25-$35 range. I can’t see myself using it all the time because of all the bells and whistles that you have to deal with, but it gave me such an intense orgasm I really can’t say that it’s not worth it because it totally is!
