Bondage Essentials #2: Nipple Clamps

Tit Torture? It’s nowhere near as bad as it sounds (well…it doesn’t have to be anyway..)

Nipple Clamps should be more popular than they are, in my opinion. How many times have you heard a friend declare that they like their nipples played with? Most people leave it at pinching and tugging, and that feels great right? Grab a pair of nipple clamps and see what happens when you increase that sensation dramatically. So what is this sensation like? What are the benefits of nipple clamps?

I am going to try to avoid using the word “painful” in this as much as possible because, as I mentioned in the spanking article, it’s not about experiencing pain but rather approaching the threshold of it. I will instead use the word “exhilarating“.

Most people aren’t aware that the most exhilarating part of using nipple clamps isn’t wearing the clamps at all. Don’t get me wrong — wearing them is great. You have all the benefits of having pressure applied to your nipples while still having the benefits of your partner’s hands being able to do other good things for you. Most nipple clamps also have a chain that connects each clamp which allows for some gentle or firm tugging. Although different people’s nipples have a range of sensitivity, most nipples are a lot more durable than you’d imagine. Go ahead and try it yourself. Lift your shirt up and pinch one of your nipples as hard as you can. Not so bad for most people. In fact it feels pretty good. Now try giving it a firm pull. See? They didn’t fall off. So wearing them and tugging them is exhilarating, but not the most exhilarating part. That comes when you remove the clamps.

Like any other part of your body, when you pinch your nipples you succeed in cutting off the flow of blood to them. As I mentioned in the cockring article, anytime you do this with a part of your body you don’t want to do it for too long — in this case, 10-15 minutes is plenty safe. When you now remove the clamps from your nipples, blood rushes back into that area of your body and that creates a rather unique sensation. Think about when you sleep on your arm funny and them wake up and it starts to tingle. Depending on how hard you slept on that arm, it is either a very light tingle or sometimes a very strong tingle! It’s the same thing with your nipples.

There are lots of different types of nipple clamps that you can buy.

We have covered Snake Bites here in the past. This is an odd looking but a nice place to start if you are really timid. They create a heavy suction versus pinching sensation over your nipples, giving you the benefits of the pulling without the stress you might feel about the pinching.

They make some nice beginner clamps in more of a slim Tweezer form. These are great for beginners because you can adjust the intensity at will. I was actually gifted a pair of these for Christmas last year and each one had a pair of jingle bells at the end. I would wear them under my shirt at work for a laugh.

For a rougher clamp, you can go for an Alligator or Clover clamp. These have a much more intense pressure and not everyone can rock them. The alligator clamps are sometimes adjustable, but for the most part these are both some heavy duty clamps.

Like all things, pain is a warning that something’s wrong. Pace yourself and test your threshold before slapping on the toughest pair of clamps available. Start with a thick portion of your nipple, then work down to a little less, and then a little less. Stop when you feel like any further might start to be more painful than pleasurable, and let that be where you wear your clamps from now on.

Nipple Clamps are a lot of fun when used properly and can indeed be an excellent addition to your toy box — for use with or partner, or even by yourself!
