Aneros Progasm

Aneros ProgasmAfter many’a romp with my good ol’ boy, Helix, I decided that it was time to upgrade to a larger size Aneros. There were several models to choose from and they all had such distinct shapes and sizes. My eyes drifted to the right of them all and noticed that one of them came in a slightly larger box. That’s because the piece itself was slightly larger than what I had thought was the largest one out there. It was called the Progasm and it came in fuchsia so I had to pick one up and give it a whirl for review. Is bigger actually better?

The first thing that you can notice different between the beginner Helix model and the advance Progasm model is the size. The specs on the Progasm are as follows:

1.25” diameter at widest part of tip
1.30” diameter at mid-ridge
1.52” from center of stem to perineum pressure point
.60” perineum tab diameter
4.75” overall height

Although they are both the same length, the Progasm is larger than the Helix in every single way. The curve where the prostate is massaged is also much more dramatically defined in the Progasm versus the Helix which has a much more modest design to it. I also noticed that the Progasm had an extra tab on it. The other models of the Aneros all have perineum tabs, but the Progasm also has what is called a Kundalini or “K-Tab.” This applies pressure to an acupuncture spot that allegedly “adds sensations up and down your back that are complementary to the sensations from the prostate.” Alright, I’m into it. Let’s see what this puppy can do.

The Progasm took a little more work to get in than it’s slender sister did. It still wasn’t anything compared to larger toys because it is still slick and narrow for the most part. I also pulled out the good silicon lube for this job. As soon as the Progasm was inserted, I could feel immediate, direct, intense pressure on the prostate. For someone that has become accustomed to simply massaging the prostate gland, this was a bit much. It’s not the size of the Progasm that was throwing me off, it was the fact that it was BAM right on my prostate right from the start.

I found that I was having trouble getting the piece to move after attempting to contract/release my muscles in the region. This is due to the larger size of the Progasm — you really need some strong muscles for this one. I finally got into the swing of it and it was moving a bit, but still nowhere near as much as the Helix.

As mentioned in my review of the Hitachi, this toy would feel great with some vibration. I opted out of trying that out though and just finished the job.

The Progasm, like all Aneros toys, is made of non-porous medical grade silicone — which is excellent! I will say that I didn’t have as much fun with this as I did with my Helix, however I can see this being a fun toy to use with a partner. One thing that the Progasm is great for is as a butt plug to help loosen yourself up when you feel like using larger toys or having someone top you. It would also be really intense for a top to wear while they were fucking their boyfriend/partner/fuck buddy/”room mate”/rentboy.

All in all I’d say that the Progasm isn’t for me, but will come in handy in the future when I plan to use some larger anal toys. I still think that a larger version of the Helix would be great, which is why my next model is going to be aimed at the Maximus.
